Krishna Academy of Human Behavioural Science, Coimbatore is a sister concern of Krishna Nursing Home is a 36 bedded psychiatry hospital with inpatient & outpatient facility, in service of mentally ill patients for the past 42 years, and take pride and responsibility in starting Postgraduate Diploma Course in Counselling Psychology and Certificate Course in Counselling and Guidance.

This course is started with the motto of empowering the students with skill, confidence and to heal the psychologically disturbed as well as to guide the normal person to live their potential and service to the society. Â The rapid change in the society, relationship, economic discrepancies and explosion in the educational fields, urbanization has led to psychological distress, problems in people and they look for guidance and counseling. Considering the magnitude of the psychological help and guidance, and fewer professional to handle the psychologically and mentally disturbed, there is a need for a course which does not need qualification of highest level. The Postgraduate Diploma Course fulfils the required knowledge and training for any paramedical graduate students. These students following the completion of the course will be extremely useful as an assistant to a psychiatrist and as well to other medical professional to assess for mental illness and to carry out the psychological treatment prescribed by the treating psychiatrists. They will be empowered to assess for mental illness and to assess and treat for psychological disturbance as an individual professional.

The certificate course aims to inculcate skills in counseling and guidance for any individual who has completed higher secondary education. The course intends to guide the people who are in need for career development, to improve their personality, healthy life style and need for guidance to their psychological disturbances.

Krishna Nursing Home is having experience in training psychology students, social work students, nursing students over twenty years. The experience has lead to starting the Krishna Academy of Psychological Medicine (KAPMED) with two professional courses in 2013 under BSS.  The institute has successfully passed out twenty students in Master Course and five students in Diploma Course since 2014. The advantage of doing the course in this institute is the students are exposed to assessing the patients individually and observing the psychological treatment. They are trained practically which gives them the confidence to get placed immediately after course. The institute has got excellent faculty members with wide range of exposure and experience. It takes only a fewer students to give individual care in training and the motto being training the students.
