BIPOLAR SUPPORT GROUP

BIPOLAR SUPPORT GROUP

The bipolar support group is conducted on Thursdays of the first week of every month. Patients and their family members attend the meeting to share their experiences and support. Patients and their family are educated about the disorder, symptoms and its management. Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) is discussed as an adjunctive therapy. IPSRT helps people understand and improve their moods by understanding and working with their biological and social rhythms. It teaches techniques to improve medication adherence, manage stressful life events, and reduce disruptions in social rhythms. IPSRT educates patients of skills that let them be aware of future episodes.
